This Class is video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as First Aid. This course teaches skills needed for Nurses STNS's Daycare Providers and Lay persons.
Guidelines are approved by the American Heart Association. Certification is valid for 2 years.

Assignment of a performance of activities or tasks related to patient care to unlicensed personnel while retaining accountability for the outcome.
This assessment is to be done by a person who knows the individual well and, a second observer present. Assess the individual’s knowledge and skill in each environment where medication(s) is taken. Nurse conducting this assessment will need to have ALL necessary information regarding current meds including medication name(s), dose(s), route(s), time(s), purpose for medication(s) and basic side effects

Coursework relates to the following healthcare topics: nurse aide roles, communication, interpersonal skills, basic nursing skills, mental health, social services, legal issues, safety & security, signs & symptoms of disease, aging, death & dying, hygiene, grooming, and mobility. In addition to classroom-based training, you will have a “hands on” clinical experience. Upon successful completion of our class students receive a certificate and this qualifies all students to take the State Tested Nurse’s Aide examination. This examination is administered at our school.
The Ohio Department of Health requires that students complete a minimum of 59 classroom hours and 16 clinical hours for a total of 75 hours.
PREREQUISITES:
17 years of age
Able to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for 3 hours
Valid State ID
HS diploma not required

Medication Administration I II III for DODD
This series of courses are taught by trained Nurses who teach direct support professionals how to administer oral, eye, ear, topical, and nasal medications.
Medication Administration I demonstrates performance of health-related activities and mediation preparation, administration, and documentation for each route of medication administration presented in the 14 hour course. A 2 hour renewal courses is also offered for Medication I.
Medication Administration II provides training on how to administer and document administering, feedings, cleaning, and medication through G/J tubes. A 4 hour G/J tube and 1 hour renewal courses are available.
Medication Administration III teaches the signs, symptoms, and management of diabetes, and administering, and documentation of subcutaneous insulin injections.A 4 hour class.

STNA classes are designed to prepare you with the skills and knowledge you need to find success in your career as an STNA. This is a two-week course from 8am-4:30pm. 2-day class, the course is designed to instruct DD personnel how to safely administer medication and 13 health related activities as authorized by law. Direct support professionals require special certification to administer most medications and treatments. Must be renewed annually.

is 4 hour class, purpose of this course is to provide DD personnel the educational basis to receive nursing delegation for feeding and medications administration per stable labeled Gastrostomy / Jejunostomy G/J tubes including understanding the equipment and procedure for feeding and medication administration per (g/J) tubes site care and maintenance of these tubes. REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS: Have a current, Medication Administration Category 1 certificate, background check and high school diploma

is 4 hrs- recert- 1 hr- the purpose of this course is to provide DD personnel how to safely administration insulin understands the pathophysiology diabetes. This also covers using a glucometer, importance of diet, exercise, documentation of insulin administration and more.
